Eighteenth Annual Meeting

March 12, 2020

Following extensive deliberations, the MTSMA Executive Committee has decided to cancel our upcoming meeting at Kentucky. This was not an easy decision to make, but with the ever-increasing sense of urgency surrounding the spread of the novel coronavirus, the increasing number of travel bans, and the recent upswing in closings and suspensions of university courses, we found it impossible to justify going ahead with our plans to meet.

We are committed to the broad aim of promoting scholarship on music theory and, to that end, we will work to probide another opportunity to enjoy and learn from the exciting schedule of paper sessions, workshop, and keynote address which was on the menu for Lexington. We are therefore not abandoning the meeting, but postponing it until later in the year, either as an on-site meeting or as a virtual conference. Please stay tuned to this page for details as we work them out.

If you have already registered for the Kentucky conference, you will receive a full refund. The MTSMA Treasurer, Kip Wile, will be in touch shortly. We hope you will be able to join us, online or on-site, later this year at our soon-to-be re-arranged Eighteenth Annual Meeting.

Best wishes,

Eugene Montague,
President, MTSMA
